Let’s cut to the chase: Brad Rowland’s South Bay 925CR just MIGHT be the world’s fastest pontoon boat! Just how fast is it? Well, even way back in 2011, he set some pretty good numbers, with a set of THREE Mercury 300X outboards! Just how good and how fast? Check it out:
It’s a little hard to see, but in case you missed it, that was a GPS verified speed of 107mph! Now, that’s WAY fast than Rick Swenson paddled in his pumpkin (no really), and that might be fast enough for you, but not for Brad Rowland. He came back to the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout a couple years let and set a SCORCHING 114 mph speed record that not only won him first place, but also won him a spot in the the Guinness Book of World Records.
We’re not sure what’s krazier; the fact that he thinks he can hit 120 mph, or the fact that anyone can buy a standard pontoon that might not go THAT fast, but can easily hit half those speeds. Of course, it’ll cost you, but who DOESN’T want 900 horsepower?!? Check out the Premier 310 Dodici:
We have to admit, if we were in a market today, today’s tritoon pontoons makes a very compelling argument!
Now, just because they’re fast, make sure you know the conditions and don’t end up like THIS group!!
