Homebuilt Wood Speedboat!!

This is some DIY project!!  Testing a 22″ small eared chopper propeller on home built speed boat is an interesting way to spend the day. Top speed is 52.7 mph at 5300 rpm. The engine is a 1961 Mercury 800 FGS inline 6 long shaft, putting out  about 80 HP at crank. The prop shaft is 3.5″ below the pad, and the anti-vent plate is 4″ above pad. There is 6″ of setback from the CMC PT-130 tilt trim unit.

That’s all well and good, but how does it FELL? Well, just watch!
But how does it handle the WAVES??

MASSIVE waves in the North Sea!!
